For the past few years we have been going to Paris, TN for Thanksgiving Day. We celebrate Thanksgiving with my family the Saturday before, then go to Todd's grandparent's house in Paris, TN for Thanksgiving Day. On our trip up there this year a leaf blocking or in the mass air flow sensor caused us to sit on the side of the road for an hour, just south of Columbus, MS waiting on a tow truck. Thank goodness there was a Honda place in Columbus and thank goodness the service department at Carl Hogan Honda stayed open until we go there. It was touch and go there for a bit. They wanted to close early and who wouldn't on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. With a lot of begging they stayed and waited on us. The tow truck unloaded our car at 4:45ish and they had us back on the road by 5:30. Thank you Carl Hogan Honda service department. On I guess a good note, the tow truck driver told Todd he has never had to tow a Honda unless it had been in a wreck. So hopefully that will be the only time our Honda has to be towed and believe me I will be telling Treadwell Honda's service department about the leaf. Anyway we made it to TN, just a couple hours later than we had planned.
Since we got in later on Wednesday, we decided we would have Thanksgiving dinner on Friday. So we just lounged around on Thursday and Todd did some chores for pawpaw. We did have to go to the store to buy food for my picky eaters and while there we picked up some capes. When you buy our kids a cape you get "SuperGirl" and "TuperBoy."
The Friday after Thanksgiving, the square in Paris always has santa claus, arts for the children, train rides, petting zoo, and horse rides. We really enjoy taking part of this.
After doing things on the square we went into Jack's Java for coffee and to paint some pottery. Had we known it would take 2 weeks to get the stuff back, we may not have done the pottery painting. Hopefully they will mail our stuff to us like they said they would.
That was our Thanksgiving. We are very thankful and have so much to be thankful for.
